What is the fiber laser cutting?


Fiber laser cutting process is to focus the laser beam on the material, causing the surface of the material to melt, and then blows away the melted material with the coaxial compressed gas of the laser beam. Through the relative movement of the laser beam and the material in a certain trajectory, a fixed shape of the kerf is formed.

Advantages of laser cutting:

1. Fast Cutting Speed and Processing, High Production Efficiency: compared with other cutting methods, the cutting positioning accuracy of the fiber laser cutting machine is 0.01mm, the repeated positioning accuracy is 0.03mm, and the cutting speed reaches 30m/min, which truly realizes high-speed cutting and high-precision cutting;


2. Accurate Cutting Precision: the laser cutting incision is generally narrow, the two sides of the cutting slit are parallel and perpendicular to the surface, and the dimensional accuracy of the cutting parts can reach ±0.05mm;


3. High Quality Laser Cutting: when the fiber laser cutting machine cuts the metal plate, there is no need to contact metal plate, the processed parts are not thermally deformed, and the cutting surface is smooth and almost free of burrs, so that secondary processing is not required;


4. Complex Processing, Available to Different Kinds of Graphics Processing: fiber laser cutting machine processing is flexible, not limited by drawings, as long as the product drawings are formed, it can be laser cut immediately to meet the proofing requirements of customers;

Restrictions for laser cutting are as follows:


1. The cost of laser cutting is relatively high, and this process is only suitable for rapid proofing of products;


2. Due to the limitation of laser power and equipment volume, laser cutting machine can only cut materials with medium or small thickness. With the increase of workpiece thickness, the cutting speed decreases significantly, and the cutting accuracy also decreases;


3. Laser cutting requires the use of protective gas (nitrogen, argon) to assist cutting, which requires relatively high pressure and purity, and is prone to chromatic aberration of the cutting surface.
