What is the progressive die?

The progressive die is composed of the upper die, the lower die and the die sleeve. The guide pillar is used as a guide to complete a series of different stamping processes in one stroke of the punch. Its function is to use the punch and die to exert the certain force with different forms and sizes on the sheet metal, so that the material produces plastic deformation, thus transforming the raw material into the product parts. Progressive die stamping is an excellent solution for mass production.

Advantages of progressive dies are as follows:

1. High Production Efficiency: progressive die can complete a variety of complex processing technology, to achieve automatic feeding, automatic material, automatic riveting.

2. High Product Precision: the whole working procedure can be completed by one-time positioning of the progressive die, which overcomes the invariable operation and accumulated error caused by multiple positioning when a simple die is used, so that the precision of the product is high.

3. Safe and Simple Operation: during the stamping process, the operator does not need to put the hand into the dangerous area of the die. For mass production, the progressive die stamping process also adopts an automatic feeding mechanism with a safety detection device installed in the tooling.

4. Low Product Cost: the production efficiency of the progressive die is high, and the number of operators required is small, so that the comprehensive production cost of the product is lower than that of a single die product.

5. Long Service Life: the progressive die is relatively firm, which can bear various external forces and can well adapt to strict processing conditions. The life of YUMA Precision Progressive Die can reach 100 million + strokes.

Restrictions for progressive dies are as follows:

1. High Production Cost: Compared with the single punching die, the cost of the progressive die is much higher due to its complex structure and high manufacturing accuracy. The quotation is based on the drawings and product process;

2. Long Manufacture Cycle: compared with a single punch die, the process is generally completed in about 75-100 days after the drawing is confirmed;

In order to help customers quickly verify the new projects of motor stator and rotor core samples, our company supports single punch die proofing and laser cutting proofing, and customizes the proofing methods according to the needs of customers, thus shortening the product development cycle. At present, our company is constantly promoting lean management, and we will continue to compress the proofing time to help customers quickly verify the feasibility of product use, so as to determine the development of progressive dies and promote the mass production of products.
